TIPS California RBS Training Program - California, the web-based version of the TIPS California RBS Training Program.
As a server of alcohol, you have an important job. You are expected to balance the needs of your guests with the expectations of your managers and the requirements of the law. That is a lot to do!
TIPS California RBS Training Program can help you. This course is designed to build on your existing skills as a server of alcohol to prevent intoxication, drunk driving, and underage drinking. You will learn strategies and skills that can help you balance providing excellent customer service with ensuring only legal alcohol sales.
The course is broken down into six modules. Once you complete the course and pass the certification exam, you will receive your TIPS California RBS Training Program certification card!
Note: You will not receive a printed certification from ABC, but after passing the ABC RBS exam, you will be issued a certification number that will serve as your training certificate. You are not fully certified until you have logged into the ABC RBS portal and passed the exam with score of 70% or better.
In this course, you will learn to:
- Describe the Responsible Beverage Service Training Program.
- Explain who must be trained under AB 1221.
- Define “Alcohol Server” under AB 1221.
- Explain the positive and negative Impact of Alcohol Sales
- Explain Alcohol-Related Crimes, Neighborhood Quality of Life, Public Health Risks and Alcohol Server’s Responsibility to the Community.
- Describe how alcohol is absorbed into the body.
- Recognize signs of intoxication in your guests.
- Dispel common myths about sobering up.
- Define the four behavioral cues and identify example behaviors that relate to each behavioral cue.
- Recognize behavioral cues in your guests.
- Explain the three types of illegal alcohol sales and the penalties those sales can incur.
- Name and explain the categories of crimes in California.
- Define and differentiate between the three types of liability for licensees, employees, and contractors.
- Explain the laws related to the service of alcohol for consumption.
- Describe the T.R.AC.E. program.
- Explain the role of law enforcement and how to
- follow safe-service guidelines designed to help you avoid illegal alcohol sales.
- Explain how to Interact with law enforcement, discrimination, hiring practices, lawful hours of operation and prohibited promotions.
TIPS California RBS Training Program - training is an online program designed to teach servers and sellers of alcohol the laws and regulations that affect all aspects of alcohol sales in the state of California. Servers and sellers of alcohol must be familiar with the laws that govern responsible alcohol services and understand the liabilities of illegal or irresponsible services.
